Welcome from Principal Marlatt

My name is Ana Marlatt and I am so honored and excited to serve as Second Creek Elementary’s principal. Second Creek has a rich history in this great community. Prior to my appointment as Principal, I was a classroom teacher in DPS and 27J for 20 years. I was also an instructional coach and finally Second Creek’s Assistant Principal for 2 years. 

I am originally from Brazil, so I connect with so many of our families who had to learn English as a second language. Currently, we have over 20 languages represented at Second Creek. 

Our family has lived in Brighton for 20 years. My husband and I are both educators, and we have 3 wonderful grown children, one amazing grandson and a fur baby that keeps me on my toes. 

I love biking, gardening and spending time with family. My true love is reading, and I bring my love of literacy with me to the principal role.I love reading to a group of students and encouraging teachers to help their students fall in love with books!

I am excited to partner with you to create a wonderful and positive culture at Second Creek - where all are welcome and growth is celebrated. Great schools are filled with great teachers and families that feel connected to the school’s vision.
